Rafeal Montero, SEA, RP (2,250,000 in 21, ARB4)
John Gant, STL, RP (2,100,000 in 21, ARB3)
Ryan Helsley, STL, RP (600,000 in 21, Pre Arb)
The Mariners are very excited to bolster our bullpen with this move. While we like the prospects we sent, this move puts us over the top in categories like S+H and IRS. Maybe Martinez becomes a starter who figures it out, maybe he becomes a legit closer. Or maybe he flames out and the Cardinals don't bring him back in 22. Montero is getting saves in Seattle, While Gant will provide a ton of Holds. Helsley will be a long term BP arm we really like. Cardinals to confirm.
