Luis Rengifo has been on and off my roster the last couple of years, and here, we say goodbye again. With the playoffs right around the corner, the bullpen upgrade and roster space just make more sense for me than retaining his tag rights this offseason. Nevertheless, I believe we shall reunite again one day... </3

The Reds will cut Ferguson, Milner, and Smith as a part of this trade. The get was Rengifo for us. We believe that we have enough relief pitching similar to Cousins to not regret this trade but getting tag rights for Rengifo was huge. It helps us solidifying our infield hitting with more power and average. Yandy, Busch, Rengifo, and Seager is a hell of a lot better than Solano, Dubon, McNeil, or Urshela could have given us.
