Here we are again. I have now traded two of my favorite players to watch, maybe ever (that aren’t Mariners). I traded Aaron Judge once, and now I’ve traded Pete Alonso. I didn’t want to trade the Polar Bear, but he is a free agent after this year. I hoped to contend this year, and I did for a minute. But the overall look of my aging roster, and the fact that I have no real chance of doing anything in the playoffs, has led me down this road. I’m still not sure if I will commit to a full rebuild or not, but even if I don’t rebuild, this is a deal that will help me more than keeping Alonso. This deal came through really quickly, and all credit to Jared.
