Jays Trade:
Jackson Holliday, MI, BAL - MiLB Orelvis Martinez, MI, TOR - MiLB Wikelman Gonzalez, P, BOS - MiLB 1.06 2025 2nd Round Pick
Yankees Trade:
Austin Riley, CI, ATL - 2024: $21MM, 2025 - 2032: $22MM, 2033: $22MM (Club Option) Jose Berrios, SP, TOR - 2024: $17MM, 2025: $18MM, 2026: $18MM, 2027: $24MM (Player Option), 2028: $24MM
I came into the offseason hoping to use my prospect capital to quickly build around Vlad and Bo. With a couple of earlier moves, I feel pretty confident making this move now. Holliday is going to be a stud and pick 1.6 should also net a top prospect. Martinez and Gonzalez are two exciting prospects as well. The cost is high. But, Riley is coming into his age 27 season with an extremely team friendly contract, and with franchise and restricted tags, building my offence around Riley, Vlad, Bo and Matt McLain for the foreseeable future is enticing. Berrios, while not an ace, is a solid starter who pairs well with Musgrove and also provides me with long term control at a reasonable price. I have moved quite a bit of future value, but I like where my roster is heading and even with all the salary I have taken on during the offseason, I am coming into free agency with over $50M in cap space to round out my roster. This deal came together pretty quickly, always great to deal with Ryan. Over to the Yankees to confirm

Yanks confirm.
It’s not easy moving a player like Riley, but looking at the state of my team, I decided to move forward with a rebuild. Holliday and hopefully pick 1.06 will be new pieces for me to build around. And I like Martinez and Gonzalez as well. Good dealing with Alfie, good luck!
