Kansas City Receives:

Miami Receives:

Evan Phillips RP LAD
Sal Frelick OF MIL

Jonathan and I beat this one around quite a bit, and actually ended up more aggressive at the end. I’m a fan of all Evans and am a big fan of Phillips in LA. Frelick is a smoking talent and monster prospect whom I hope develops into an anchor. I like the prospects I sent a lot, but this one also helps me. Tough one here... losing Frelick may hurt me later. I like JH Malloy quite a bit, & I'm banking on him getting ML ABs this upcoming season. Mazur & Black offer some intriguing arms to my future arsenal. I like all 3 of them, with Malloy being the centerpiece here. Phillips is on an expiring contract, so i'm likely to lose him after 2024 anyways. Thought it wise to get value for him now before he hits FA. I had many trade discussions with several managers about Phillips, but most ultimately hit a dead-end. This one made sense to me in the end, & Evan was willing to tweak things around until we could find a good compromise. Risky move, but taking the chance on these guys developing.
