The Tampa Bay Rays and Miami Marlins have completed the following trade:

Tampa Receives:

Jonathan Aranda MICI TB 2.1M MiLB

Miami Receives:

Drey Jameson SP 700K MiLB

While I’m hoping Jameson avoids TJ and is ready for ‘24, he could also end up in my rehab pile. I like Aranda and have been waiting for his call up, but I’m into arm gathering right now. Always fun with Bailey. Over to him for confirmation.

Rays confirm.

I traded Merrill Kelly straight up for Drey Jameson this off-season, and that’s looking like a bust. I absolutely love Jameson’s stuff, but tough to wait out his injury with the way I churn my roster. Aranda’s $2.1m contract is an artifact of an offer I made him with our former MiLB bidding system, but I’m still glad to have him back, and hopeful he’ll warrant the extra ≈ $1.5m per year. Big fan of his bat, and wouldn’t be surprised if the real-life Rays end up trading him somewhere he can get regular ABs.
