I felt bad for how much pitching Evan’s shipped out over the last couple days, so thought I’d help him replenish.

In all seriousness, Mead’s been one of my top targets since the offseason. I’m sure Stone will eventually turn things around and be a much better pitcher than he’s showing against the all-powerful Rays today, but the stable of pitching prospects I’ve built up along with the recent addition of Eury made him feel expendable.

This one came together much quicker than the Eury deal, thanks to Evan for the 2nd trade in one week, and best of luck to him as always! Over to him to confirm.

As I was watching Stone get completely deconstructed by the Rays, it became clear I had to have him. While Mead is a sterling piece, I couldn’t resist the chance to book Stone (whom I believe in), and working with Sam is always fun. Thanks, bud!
