The Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins have announced the following trade:

This was tough for us both. Selling this early on a Eury Perez could be quite foolish, but I am committed to rebalancing my offense, and feel like I helped myself here. Sam gets Eury. Great negotiations with a really good dude. I hope Eury turns into Seaver.

On the flip side - a note to our commissioner. Sam made me wait on this trade until his rock star gig was over. I ultimately went to sleep - knowing I had a deal, but not knowing all the details. This created angst for me. Sam created this angst and should be sanctioned. Sorry, Sam...I don't make the rules.

Confirmed! I tried my best to keep Rushing out of any trade talks, but Evan beat me to a pulp until I gave in. Thus, I was left nursing my bruises until I had enough strength to give him the final thumbs up on the deal, which is the real reason behind the delay in getting it executed.

The biggest deciding factor in this for me was that I’m getting one of the youngest players in the deal who’s already seemingly holding his own at the highest level. In my short time so far in this league, I’ve found quality pitching really hard to come by, so I’m hoping I’ve found a future ace. Hopefully the rest of my hitting prospects can help fill the gaps left behind by the hefty trio I’m sending out the door.
