This is a lot of firepower to let go of, but at my stage of building this team I'm looking for high upside building blocks like Hendrick. Relief pitchers are going to be there for me in a few years. Good talks with Adam!

Weems and Wendelken are the exact type of young relief arms I’m going for. There really aren’t a ton of high upside arms left and the ones who are the prices are going expensive. Wendelken, Weems, and Puk are my choices for the A’s back end of the bullpen of the future with Petit, Soria, Hendricks, and Trivino moving on in this season or next.

Hendricks has a lot of promise but, isn’t a transcendent type of high school prep bat. He may very well be one but right now he looks like a power hitting right fielder thats 3-5 years away. I’ll take the cheap bullpen arms and figure out a replacement in the future.
