Jacob deGrom 4 years 27.5M

Marlins trade
Jeremy Pena 850K/pre arbitration

As many of you know deGrom was shopped on a franchise tag before I ultimately matched a restricted tag. Happy to bring in Pena as he is a better asset than I'd have gotten without matching the contract, and I wish the former Met the best in Texas/FMode's Marlins. Evan to confirm

Miami confirms. I liked getting Peña in the Jazz deal, but after dealing Sandy…I decided to think about one more arm. DeGrom is historically good, but I’ve had concerns about his accumulating arm stress. Figuring that Texas did their due diligence, I decided to go for it. Cody is awesome. Done deal.
