George Kirby, SP (SEA) - protected
Pick 1.11

Tough to let go of such an electric prospect, but my team is deep up the middle and I'm building a pitching staff. I think Kirby is a #1 at the MLB level in the next couple of years and I think this is a positive for my build. Some intense long negotiations, but super positive working with Sam. Over to him for confirmation.

Confirmed. My head hurts from how much I’ve thought about this one, I love Kirby and think he’ll do great things for Jared. Ultimately I decided to spite my Red Sox fandom and grab the Yankees’ top prospect, and am definitely excited for a top 3 pick in the upcoming draft. Infield was a huge need for me and hopefully Volpe will be an important piece for me there for years to come. Thanks to Jared for working through the many discussions on this one, glad we could end up getting it done!
