Cincinnati Trades:
Alex Cobb, SP SFG - $9M in ‘23 & ‘$10M in ‘24 (Franchise Tag)
Dylan Coleman, RP KC - $850,000 MiLB Contract
Leury Garcia, MI/OF - $2.4M in ‘23 & ‘24
Mets Trade:
Whit Merrifield, MI/OF - $6.5M in ‘23 (club option)
Hunter Dozier, CI/OF - $7.25M in ‘23, $9M in ‘24, $10M club option in ‘25
Reds give up the probably more value in Coleman and Cobb but needed to move off the franchise tag to switch it over to Margot this offseason. Doing so does wonders for our OF which will now have Merrifield, Margot, and Daza (much better than Robles & Bouchard). We lose some pitching but still feel comfortable in our ability to identify relievers and have targets for SP additions. Only losing $1.5M in cap space in the deal also is very helpful.
