SEA receives:
Didi Gregorious, MI (PHI) - $6,000,000 in 22 and 23 (from BOS)
Michael Chavis, MI (PIT) - $750,000 (pre-arb) (from SF)
Andrew Benintendi, OF (KC) - $8,500,000 (FA in 23) (from SF)
San Francisco retains 50% of Benintendi’s contract ($4,250,000)

BOS receives:
Emerson Hancock, P (SEA) - prospect (from SEA)
Yonny Chirinos, P (TB) - $1,175,000 (arb 2 in 23) (from SEA)


SF receives:
Nick Yorke, MI (BOS) - prospect (from BOS)
Grant Lavigne, CI (COL) - prospect (from SEA)
Drew Steckenrider, P (SEA) - $2,000,000 (same in 23) (from SEA)
Eric Haase, C (DET) - $1,500,000 (FA in 23) (from SEA)



Wow, this one was fun to put together. SF was not interested in Hancock, but Boston was. When he offered me Yorke, I had to ask SF and he wanted him. Then this came together pretty quick. I needed to lengthen my lineup for this season and I did just that, without giving up anyone I needed this season. I may lose this trade long term, but my window is open now and I have to capitalize now.

SF confirms. With my recent Devers acquisition, I need to save my franchise tag on him for next year. Benintendi was expendable. Chavis has been surprisingly solid this year. I’ll take the cold start from Yorke this year for these players. Haase and Streckenrider will be drops once the trade processes.

Boston accepts. Pretty high on Hancock as he has looked impressive since returning. With the Devers trade, I have enough MI depth to trade away Yorke and Didi. Yorke hasn’t looked like ‘21 Yorke so maybe I am selling high but I could regret it long-term. Getting rid of Didi clears cap space for the off-season while also getting a wildcard in Chirinos.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news because I know how hard it is to broker a 3 team deal, but Benintendi is in his final arbitration year and ineligible for salary retention

Aristides Aquino, OF (CIN) - $1,500,00 (same in 23)


Seattle retains the FULL contract of Andrew Bennintendi

Aquino will be recalled from waivers to make this deal. Now I do believe we are square. Should be good to go now
