The White Sox and Rays agree to the following deal:

White Sox send:

• Domingo Acevedo, RHP (OAK) —  $ 801,000 MiLB
• Zachary Pop, RHP (MIA) — $ 900,000 $ 900,000 
• TJ Sikkema, LHP (NYY) — MiLB
• KCR 3rd round pick

to the Rays in exchange for:

• Diego Castillo, RHP (SEA) —  $ 2,150,000 Arb 2 Arb 3
  

Tried to nab Castillo during the offseason and wasn't successful. Glad to acquire him now after his price dropped and hope he returns to form. Thanks to Bailey for the back-and-forth.

Rays confirm.

I originally had a high price on Castillo coming off the season he had in 2021. He’s had a slow start to the year though, so I was okay with moving him to make cap space. Pop kinda cancels that aspect out, but I like the other 3 pieces enough to make it work. Castillo struck out the side in the 8th inning and earned a hold last night, so maybe he’s turning a corner and I’m selling at the wrong time lol.
