SF sends:
Ezequiel Duran MI TEX $500k milb Jeferson Quero C MIL $500k milb JP Sears P NYY $801k milb Zack Thompson P STL $500k milb
WAS sends:
Harrison Bader OF STL 2022: $4.7M 2023: $4.7M Lane Thomas OF WAS 2022: $500k 2023: $500k Ethan Hankins P CLE $500k milb
Giants are shuffling around their prospects for some MLB talent. Bader is showing some great speed which is valuable. Lane Thomas on the other hand isn’t looking great but I’m hoping there is still some of that last years WAS Thomas somewhere in there. I’m also getting back Hankins who I like and don’t mind seeing him rehab back this year with CLE pitching factory. Over the Lee to confirm.

Confirmed. Nationals will miss Baders power and speed, but with our window of contention not quite fully realized, I decided it was time to maximize his value and acquire talent that fills needs long term. Love Durans profile, and he's clearly looking like the prize of the Gallo deal, even if he doesn't have a clear path to playing time in Texas unless he moves to OF. Thompson has been absolutely killing it this year, so he helps mitigate losing Hankins. I think Quero is the "hidden" gem of this trade, and despite a slow start I envision him as our long term catcher if he meets his potential. Sears was also a piece I wanted, as I think he could be a weapon out of the Yankees bullpen down the stretch and for years to come. Great dealing with Kev, appreciated him bearing with me through negotiations as I've been recovering from COVID.
