San Diego Padres Trade:
SP Yonny Chirinos - $1.2M Arb2 Arb3 FA
Seattle Mariners Trade:
C Luis Torrens - $1.5M Arb2 Arb3 FA
I just dealt my prospective backup catcher for some pitching...only natural to flip some pitching for a backup catcher. I initially acquired Yonny Chirinos thinking he would be a nice mid-season addition to my rotation, but I think I've built up enough SP depth to make him a luxury rather than a necessity. Meanwhile, I really dig the strides Luis Torrens made during his demotion last year and though I consider him more of a DH moving forward, I'll ride his bat as long as he has catcher eligibility.
