St. Louis Cardinals Trade:

SP Adbert Alzolay - $750k Standard Pre-Arb

I really like Adbert Alzolay's stuff and I'm hopeful he'll get a long look in the Cubs rotation next year. It'll hurt to lose Mejia who was an integral part of my catching squad last year even while playing part-time, but you can't ever have too much pitching. Wilkelman Gonzalez is a great pop-up SP prospect who could rise further, yet I'll stomach his loss over the next few years in order to improve my current outlook.

Cardinals confirm. Was look at adding an mlb catcher and I’m a big fan of mejia. Gonzalez was already on my radar being a Red Sox fan, still a few years away but feel he’s got tons of potential. Losing Alzolay will hurt a bit. Big fan of him as well. But added a team need and solid prospect.
