The Los Angeles Angels trade
Jahmai Jones - $500,000 (Milb)
Jeremiah Jackson - $500,000 (Milb)
Kyren Paris - $500,000 (Milb)
to the Chicago Cubs for
Kyle Hendricks - $14M (14M, 14M, 16M)
Victor Caratini - $1.4M (ARB)
I was looking to move more minor league talent for ML pieces, and this fits the bill. Hendricks is not an ace, but he is the level right below on a reasonable contract. Minus the strikeouts, he does everything asked of a starter. And Caratini is a nice backup catcher to add and not have to worry about overpaying in free agency. I unload a lot of MI talent here, but my system was deep at the position, and I was able to hold onto my elite OF prospects while still getting the top-flight starter.
