I may regret trading Royce to a divisional opponent, but I felt like I needed to bolster my minor league depth. Schmidt gives me another SP that's on the cusp of being a MLB contributor, while Caissie, Calerio and Lavastida help give me a deeper prospect pool than before. All confirmed on my end, and thanks to Judge for the patience and flexibility as we both had a bit of a slow-burn approach to this deal. I've always found Lewis to be a bit polarizing, but am ultimately excited by what we saw from the fall league and alt site, so I think this was my best chance at getting an impact MI to pair alongside Torkelson and Greene for the next 6-7 yrs. Pretty down-and-out season for Acosta, but there were some very interesting flashes of potential in a short sample. Willing to cut him some slack for the pandemic season and look forward to a full healthy season in 2022.
