Estevan Florial, OF (NYY) - Prospect ($600,000)

Minnesota Sends:
Tyler Duffey, RP (MIN) - $3,750,000 (arb estimate, FA in 23)
Antoine Kelly, SP (MIL) - Prospect


While I like Florial, I don't see a path to playing time without injury in NYY in 2022. Moving him for high upside reliever who will get me Holds/Saves was a priority this offseason. Adding Kelly is the icing on the cake. Maybe he will learn that walks are bad. Over to Judge to confirm!




PS, Kelly will report to the Minors when this trade is processed and physicals are preformed.

The Twins Confirm!

After some recent deals to bolster my bullpen, Duffey became a (relatively) expensive luxury and I felt like his salary would be better spent elsewhere. Kelly is an intriguing prospect for sure, but has struggled at A Ball and not a prospect I'm married to. Florial provides some (hopefully) near future depth which I may need depending on what happens to Gallo.

Overall pretty smooth talks with Jeff, and I appreciate the willingness to go back and forth until we found something that worked for both sides.
