to the Cincinnati Reds for:

• RHP Spencer Turnbull —  $750,000 Arb1 Arb2 Arb3

Willing to ship out a relief-only prospect and an arm still multiple years from the bigs to stash Turnbull away while he recovers from TJS. Hopefully, he'll find his place, once more, among the crop of talented young arms in Detroit. Thanks to Adam for the quick talks.

The Reds brass sometimes just can’t resist bringing in young relievers. Both will be placed onto the minor league roster with the two minor league spots being added.

Turnbull is going to come back in 2023 which is a little too far out for me to be comfortable with what he comes back with. He could pick up right where he left off, but I think I’ll take the risk on a Coleman (who’s fastball I love and am waiting for his slider to catch up with). Adon is the bigger question mark for me, not in his ability but his place in Washington. He could be a guy who’s stuff plays up more in the bullpen or one who figures it all out to be a back end of the rotation starter. Either way I’m very hopeful for this return.
