Tampa Bay sends: Yandy Diaz, CI (TB) - $0.75M; 22-24: ARB Manuel Margot, OF (TB) - 21: $3.2M; 22: ARB Josh Fleming, SP (TB) - 21: $0.5M, 22: $0.6M, 23: $0.75M; 24-26: ARB
Cincinnati sends: Nick Castellanos, OF (CIN) - 21: $14M, 22: $16M, 23: $16M, 24: $20M Lyon Richardson, P (CIN) - Prospect
Tampa Bay Logic: Our talks started around three other players, but then shifted to this. I was looking for a big bat, and Castellanos is exactly that. I love his outlook in hitter-friendly GABP. The toughest part of the trade is probably the salary implications. Yandy, Margot, and Fleming are all on cheap, controllable deals while Castellanos has a pricey four years ahead of him. But for his level of production, I am ok with it. Margot is coming off a career year so it'll be interesting to see what he does in 2021. Fleming was excellent in his 2020 cup of coffee, looks like a Yarbrough clone. And if Yandy regains his HR swing then I may regret parting with him. Hopefully Castellanos can anchor my outfield with Meadows and Arozarena.
Was a pleasure working with Adam again - thank you for the smooth talks.

Reds confirm.
Dick Williams and Nick Krall are out the door and I’m making the Reds my own that’s for sure. Everyone will think I’m crazy here but, I don’t think I lost really any power in this deal and I saved a lot of money in the process. This is a cross your fingers and pray it works deal for me but, I’m hopefully optimistic.
Fleming has about the same ceiling as Richardson and my retooling of my minor league pitching left him as an expendable asset. Grabbing Fleming gives me at a minimum another long relief guy but at as maximum a serviceable starter after moving Lorenzen and Mahle.
