Cincinnati Trades:
Carmen Mlodzinski, SP PIT - MiLB Standard Contract
Euribiel Angeles MI, SD - $801,000 MiLB Contract
Robert Stephenson RP, COL - $805,000 with arbitration in 2022 & 2023.
Arizona Trades:
Anthony Desclafani SP, SFG - $9,100,000 (same in 2022)
Turnbull going down was something I fully expected would happen after he was put on the IL, but it took me a while to find his replacement as I make my playoff push. Desclafani gives me someone not only for this season, but also next season who has been really consistent. If I'm ever going to make a playoff push my starting pitching needed that extra depth and I'm hopeful Boyd can come back in time as well.
Angeles is killing it this year and I was very excited to see what he could bring to my team, but he is a dart throw at this point. I hope he continues but you never know. Mlodzinski was the real prize lose here for me. He was pitching very well this season and while he needs a few more minor league years to refine and acclimate to the length of the season....I think he is going to be a terrific 2-3 type starter for Pittsburgh.
In addition to Robert Stephenson being included here the Reds will be cutting Caleb Ferguson and free release Phillip Evans (had only 93 at bats before the season and qualifies as a free cut), Steven Okert, and Jimmy Lambert. With the minor league spaces added, the Reds will demote Hunter Greene, Angel Perdomo, and Ryan Vilade. With all these moves, the Reds will be able to afford Desclafini's contract while having exactly no salary cap space available.
On to Michael to Confirm.
