SP George Kirby - Standard MiLB
RP Drew Pomeranz - $6m $8M $8M FA
RP Pierce Johnson - $2M ('22 Club Option: $3M) FA
Arizona Diamondbacks Trade:
MI Trevor Story - $17.5M FA
SP Corbin Martin - $600k Pre-Arb
It's been tough to land quality arms, so we're stocking up on bats here in San Diego. My lineup has been solid on a rate basis but needs a big, consistent force to help out in R, HR, and RBI, and despite a down year overall, Story brings that and more. He's as likely as anyone to be traded in real life; however, I believe he can transfer out of Coors Field just fine and remain a player worth building around. That's the hope at least when giving up George Kirby. Tough to let my favorite prospect on the team go, but I'm getting back an interesting (albeit injured) arm in Corbin Martin and dropping some risky money in Drew Pomeranz too.
