The Seattle Mariners are using their Franchise Tag on Aaron Judge, and subsequently trading him to the Arizona Diamondbacks. They have not used their Franchise tag, per the Sheet.

Kevin, contract buyouts in the real world do not effect our contracts in this league. This would be the case if Keuchel were on an FMode FA Contract, but since his 2023 salary is an IRL Mutual Option, I think it actually would be expunged. |

I was freed of Will Smith’s 2023 buyout in WLB because the Astros declined his option IRL.
